Cornish Surf One of the main reasons that people travel to Cornwall is for the great surf that both the north and south coast gets. The north generally picks up the most swell with the popular spots being Newquay, Perranporth, Porthtowan, St. Agnes and Sennen Cove. However, the south coast can be excellent given the right conditions with spots like Porthleven and Praa Sands becoming world class.

The beaches are so tempting, the conditions so perfect that every level of skill - or lack of it - is encouraged and rewarded. Newquay is the capital of England's surfing scene. This is not surprising when you consider that it has 11 beaches stretching over seven miles of golden sand. It was once a fishing village and is now a surfer's paradise. |
